Cheryl Minton and Jerry Gilles relaxing for a few minutes at a rest stop on the way back to Indiana from Iowa. Cheryl and Jerry were terrific hosts throughout the weekend. I flew into Chicago and took a bus down to their house in Indiana. They drove me out to Iowa and back, and then put me on the bus back to the city. They treated me like a king the entire time, with killer meals on both sides of the trip to Iowa and genuine friendship throughout. Super, super folks. Thanks, guys! BP
Mary, Stimpy, Jeff, and Zappy. We all took off shortly after this for the nearby Family Restaurant, which served up a killer breakfast. After that, we all went our separate ways. See you all next year!

Danny and Gena White, getting ready for a 12 hour trip back to Bogata, Texas. They went through the Ozarks and later reported that they had a great trip.

Laura, Randy, Stimpy, and Cheryl chatting. This converation -- just like all the other ones we had this weekend -- never seemed to end. Folks were just having too much fun.
Stimpy and Mary have a surprise announcement: They are going to get married at the 2009 Draglist Nationals! The group immediately started buzzing about starting line ceremonies, tuxedo themed Draglist T-shirts, and much more. One more reason to join us next year for the fourth annual edition!
Tiffany Bru was a delightful teen and a pleasure to talk with. She is working hard at school (including sometimes showing up the boys in shop class!) and is a full member of the crew on dad Eric's '56 Chevy. Good luck in all you do, Tiffany!
Russell and Jones Top Fuel team displayed their allegiance to Team Draglist on the fuel tank. We sure are proud to have these fine folks on the team!
In an unfortunate turn of events, the Nitemare team had to withdraw from the final because a bolt could not be found and was suspected to have fallen into the engine. The team pulled off the manifold and blower, but could not find the piece. Discretion called for a more thorough inspection than time allowed and the Stanke team took a solo.
As good looking a pair of Chevys as you'll see anywhere.

Two great couples: Jerry and Cheryl and Danny and Gena.
Cake time! Mary enjoys, Steve contemplates, and Cheryl hydrates (something we all had to do often).
